Speaker: Adam Oldham
Dr. Adam Oldham has spent more than a decade working as a high school counselor in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, currently at the Big Spring High School. He earned his Master’s Degree in School Counseling (K-12) from Shippensburg University, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from Immaculata University. Dr. Oldham served on the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA) Board of Directors from 2017-2024 and has led PSCA Government Relations since 2020. He also serves as the President of the School Counselor Section of the Pennsylvania State Educators Association (PSEA), and as the Past-President of the Capital Area School Counselors Association. In 2023, Dr. Oldham founded the Pennsylvania Coalition of Student Services Associations (PACSSA), which advocates for the work of the 10,000+ school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, home and school visitors, and school nurses across the Commonwealth.
Dr. Oldham is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and provides telehealth services via private practice, as well as supervision to school counselors pursuing their clinical license. He was appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Substance Use by Governor Tom Wolf in 2018. He has also served on the Advisory Board of the Cumberland-Perry Drug and Alcohol Commission (CPDAC).
Dr. Oldham has been recognized as a six-time Pennsylvania School Counselor of the Year nominee, as the 2017 PA State SADD Club Advisor of the Year, and he led the East Pennsboro Area High School SADD Club to Pennsylvania’s first SADD National Chapter of the Year in 2017. During his tenure as the AP Coordinator at East Pennsboro, the high school was recognized on the College Board’s National AP Honor Roll in 2018 for increased student participation and achievement. In 2024, Dr. Oldham received the Distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Pupil Services Administrators (PAPSA).
This is the second in a series of five webinars that make up the Advocacy Leadership Program. The webinar will feature a guest speaker who works on as a school counselor and will review the trending issues in secondary education.
