Ethical Leadership Credential Program
The Ethical Leadership Credential is an opportunity to learn what ethical practices look like in the admissions process and how to work with colleagues in all positions to make sure the process remains centered on students. Through a 4-part training series, PACAC members are given the opportunity to engage with experts from both secondary and higher education institutions to learn how to evaluate their practices and advocate for students. Participants will receive a resume-builder, certificate of completion, and an opportunity to present at the PACAC conference in June.
To obtain your credential, you must participate in at least three of the following training events and conduct a Capstone Project to present at PACAC's annual conference.
Session 1 - What is Ethical Admissions? Speakers - Misty Whelan & Ian Harkness December 14, 2022 @ 3pm

Capstone Project:
Participants will learn how case studies can help colleagues understand ethical issues in admissions and how to address situations that arise in a collegial way that supports students. Each participant will create two scenarios of ethical dilemmas that may face school counselors and admissions professionals. The scenarios will be used as the foundation of an ethics presentation at the annual conference in June.
Capstone scenarios will be completed by May 15, 2023. They should be added to a collaborative PowerPoint through the Conference Planning Sessions Committee.
Only members of PACAC are eligible for the Ethical Leadership Credential. The webinars are also eligible for Act 48 credit; a separate form will need to be submitted. If you are not a member, but would like to join PACAC, contact Andrea Cassell Bretz at [email protected].
Questions about the ELC program should be directed to David DeBor at [email protected] or Amy Gillespie at [email protected].
