Darryl W. Jones
Biography
- 1985 graduate of Penn State University in University Park, PA.
- Retired Senior Associate Director of Admissions/Coordinator for Multicultural Admission/Intercollegiate Athletics Liaison/Volunteer Assistant Men’s and Women’s Indoor & Outdoor Varsity Track and Field Coach (37 years of experience).
- Currently Senior Associate Director of Admission Emeritus and Volunteer Assistant Men’s and Women’s Indoor & Outdoor Varsity Track and Field Coach.
- Speaker/Workshop facilitator on the admissions process.
- While at Gettysburg:
- Nationally recognized and one of the most frequently requested speakers on the admission process
- Facilitated first-in-the-nation partnerships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) such as Heights Philadelphia, (formerly Philadelphia Futures), Student Leadership Network, and The Academy Group in Chicago. Recognized leader in College and University partnerships with CBOs and charter schools such as Noble Street College Prep Schools and Chicago Scholars, in Chicago; Prep for Prep, TEAK Fellowship, Oliver Scholars, The Urban Assembly Schools (former advisory board member) in New York City; College Bound, Inc., and the Black Student Fund in Washington, DC, and several others regionally and nation-wide.

- Certified as a conflict resolution and career coach through the PULSE Program.
- Coached several All-Americans for track and field, including an Olympian Arif Husain (2003), a Hall of Athletic Honor Inductee.
- Member of Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC)-former Executive Committee member, Delegate to the NACAC Assembly, and PACAC Summer Institute Faculty member.
- Recipient of the Delwin K. Gustafson Recognition Award in 2020, William R. McClintick, Jr. Service Award in 2011, and PACAC Emeritus Membership in 2022.
- Member of National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), former Assistant Chief Teller and the last Chief Teller for the NACAC Delegate Assembly before it was dissolved in 2022, and co-recipient with PACAC of the Rising Star Award in 2021.
- Member of Student Leadership Network Board of Directors and CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) Committee Chair, (recipient of the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award) in New York, NY
- Member of University of Maryland Campus Ministry/Lutheran Campus Ministry (Humble Walk) Board of Directors in College Park, MD.
- Trustee/Board of Directors member of the Historic Evergreen Cemetery and Gatehouse in Gettysburg, PA.
